According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics...
By the year 2010 there will be 10 million more open positions that the number of workers available to fill them. Baby boomers, the 78 million of them, constitute more than 40% of the entire U.S. labor force, and still higher percentages of executive and Managerial ranks.
At the same time, employable 35 to 55 year olds will decline 3.8 million by the end of the decade. This could persist for 30-40 years. Companies will need the best resources available at their command to recruit and retain talented people. They will need to have and hold on to a competitive edge.
